Weekly Roundup

Roundup by Isabelle Turner

“The Moment’s In a Hurry” by Hunter Sheridan and Mattie Leon

Opening with a beautiful acoustic guitar and sweet and gentle lyrics, “The Moment’s in a Hurry” is a beautiful ode to love and a relationship. The entire song is stunning but the bridge is incredible. As the vocals build, it feels like it spirals into a cohesive and calm outro of the track. As one of the most beautiful songs I have heard recently, Sheridan and Leon are a force to watch out for in the music industry.

“So Broke” by 29 East

With an intro straight out of a movie, “So Broke” by 29 East is a funky track that kicks off our weekly roundoff in a perfect energy. The raspy voice gives the track a slight edge to it, while keeping the polished and professional sound. With an ode to the commercial genre, the pop-rock track focuses on the infectious  sound, rather than adhering to a certain genre.

“Tell Me” by Ali Angel

An electric and exciting song that feels like the perfect cap on summer is “Tell Me” by Ali Angel. With sweet vocals that carry the piece beautifully, the song has this jazzy and groovy energy to it that makes the piece feel warm and addicting. “Tell Me” has these incredible guitar runs that weave in a retro sound to it. The sound screams a sunny energy that is impossible to not get lost in, making it the perfect addition for our picks this week.

“Soft Place to Land” by Souvenir

Similar to the sounds of Shawn Mendes, Carly Rae Jepsen and other pop icons of the 2000s, Souvenir is bringing back the synth pop ideals with his most recent track, “Soft Place to Land”. The driving beat is absolutely infectious and makes you immediately want to dance. His vocals are stunning and make it impossible to not sing along.

“All White” by Tai Verdes

After his incredible album HDTV, Tai Verdes has been leading up to his next project that is sure to amaze his listeners. With his latest track “All White”, Verdes takes a more R&B feel to it, branching out from the pop genre in which he has grown his career from. “All White”, while a step away from the usual sound of Tai Verdes, is the beginning of a new and innovative sound from the established artist.

“East Side of Sorrow” by Zach Bryan

It wouldn’t be a Weekly Roundup without mentioning a song off of Zach Bryan’s latest album, titled Zach Bryan. Perhaps the standout song on the album is “East Side of Sorrow”, which details the whirlwind journey that Bryan has encountered. Detailing his perspective on sorrow and the pain that comes with drastic life changes, he shares anecdotes on his time in the military and the death of a loved one. An incredibly honest and raw track, Zach Bryan’s self-titled album can only be defined by “East Side of Sorrow”.
