Roundup by Isabelle Turner

Somebody’s Somebody - Ashley Elle

With only three songs defining her career, Ashley Elle is starting her career with confidence. Her latest song “Somebody’s Somebody” is an incredible anthem for the lonely and anxious. Starting with a driving bass, Ashley Elle tells the story of being alone at a party. The lyrics are hyper-relatable and her soft vocals are an addicting contrast against the jaded lyrics. “Somebody’s Somebody” feels like it is perfectly made for the radio, and proves that Ashley Elle is going to quickly be on the rise to fame.

Wasted - Morgan Keller

Exuding attitude and power, Morgan Keller’s track “Wasted” is the perfect alt-pop anthem of confidence. Riding on a heavy beat that picks up for an angsty chorus, Keller’s lyrics and voice comes from an unabashed source of power. She sings, “My time is precious and I’m not going to waste it”. Produced like a true punk professional, the song feels leaps above Keller’s age as an emerging artist. Carrying herself and her music with an unapologetic sound, Morgan Keller is quickly growing and a force to watch in the music industry.

i got a boy - Hendri

Fusing together modern vocals with a retro sound, Hendri’s single “i got a boy” is without a doubt her best project yet. Starting with an incredible bass guitar that feels romantic and sassy, the catchy beat makes the track absolutely addicting. Containing playful scatting and vocalization, the track gives an ode to its precedentors. The chorus after the bridge consists of a muted sound before the vocals kick back in with even more energy than they had before.

St. George - Caroline Romano

Powerful and proud, “St. George” by Caroline Romano is a heartfelt fusion of longing that’s disguised by a catchy beat. Romano has a sense of belonging despite the depth of her lyrics. Beginning with a nostalgic voicemail, the intro immediately transports you into a world of heartache and emotion. The track has a beautiful flow to it, and Romano’s talent in storytelling is the clear star of the show.

How Do You Love Me - Nicotine Dolls

Containing poignant lyricism and an incredibly catchy beat, “How Do You Love Me” by Nicotine Dolls had to make this weekly roundup for their polished and contagious sound. With a sound landing among the icons of the 2010s, the song feels nostalgic with a modern twist as it builds to an expansive bridge that feels cinematic and life-altering. Perhaps the most unique aspect of the track is its exit, equipped with screaming vocals and an electrifying saxophone. As Nicotine Dolls continue to gain traction and fame within the music industry, they mark their place with their incredible single “How Do You Love Me”.
