Poison Oak, made up of James Balthes, Russell West, Ray Pearson, Lachlan Gleadhill, and Chris Reiterer, has been trailblazing the indie-rock scene since their debut single “Start Again” in 2019. The group’s sound is addictively unique and their storytelling is gritty, yet extremely appealing to mainstream music.

“Hope You Like The View” perfectly fits into their sound, beginning with a steady beat flowing over expressively lyrical storytelling. The production of the track is extremely polished, yet textured, offering a perfect blend in the track. The use of percussion throughout this track fits into the old-school rock genre beautifully. Combined with an electric guitar, “Hope You Like The View” sounds triumphant. The catchy vocals and upbeat tempo of the track is infectiously energetic and you can’t help but dance while listening.

Something about Poison Oak is addicting and their authenticity is infectious. Their latest track is fresh, yet gritty, standing out in a sea of indie-rock musicians. Poison Oak has a bright future ahead of them and their latest track proves it.
